Hi All,
Kurt here from Hills Football.
I havtn been on this forum for quite a while. I have just read through most and thought id give everyone the opportunity to reach out and ask questions as most of the chat on here is grossly miss informed and incorrect.
What i will do: - Answer relevant questions with facts only - Answer the question once and move on
What i wont do: - Engage in any arguments - Discuss things that happened in the past, only looking to discuss 2020 and beyond.
I wont be on here all day everyday. Flat out at the moment with registrations pouring in. Ill respond when i can!
Before i open this up. Have you registered yet?
Kurt

Welcome to the Forum Kurt. I think this is a win-win for both the Forum & the Association which in reality we should all be working together for the common good any way. Hopefully this will cut out the rumours, misinformation & scuttlebutt on the Forum & have members better informed on all Association matters. Looking forward to a greater future all round.

Welcome kurthillsfootballFirst question, hopefully not too contentious What are the details on the age groups for girls for 2020 ? In particular the number of players, field size, which ages are competitive, are offside rules enforced etc ? @oracle - you may want to pin this discussion so that it always appears at the top I have registered

Towards the end of 2019, the Female Football Sub Committee recommended to keep the age groups as they are (U9, U11, U12, U13, U15, YG, AAL & o35s). However, it really depends on the amount of team nominations that come in February to determine the final makeup. In 2019 after consulting clubs we had to merge the U12s & U13s due to the numbers. At the final Presidents meeting of 2019, it was voted FOR 17-0 the following: In 2020, under 12 girls will be small sided, under 13s will be full sided In 2021, under 12 girls will be small sided, under 13s will be small sided. Where the competition is joint due to size, then they are to play small sided football. There is a never ending debate about SSF / Competitive Football / which ages should play what etc. This goes all the way from the 16 metro Associations, through FNSW even up to the FFA. Its crazy that Girls SAP plays SSF, yet Champion of Champions / State Cup is Full Sized. This leaves it a mess for us Associations to make the decision (in many cases an unpopular one). When you talk to various senior technical directors (including the current FNSW TD), they will argue that SSF should be played until players are 13. There will always be arguments for or against this style of football. Our revamped Mini Roos handbooks are being updated as we speak. This will include field dimensions & number of players etc. Its essentially the same as under 11s. I hope this answers your concerns. Kurt

@oracle - you may want to pin this discussion so that it always appears at the top Sweeper....I may act like I run the Forum but this request can only be carried out by one of the Admins & probably by Oake who is the Forum Administrator. Oracle is a forum member just like you.....but a very good idea on your behalf. Good thinking !!

Thanks @overlord, looks good.
Didn't mean to cause you any work. My view was that this thread would likely be popular and a lot of forums have popular threads kept at the beginning.
