Hi Kurt,
Question re O/35s and if 2 players are allowed to be 33 or do all players need to be over 35 ?
In the by-laws, 4.10.3.Two(2) underage players may be permitted to register with any O35 Division 2 or lower team but the players must have turned 33 before the 31st of December of the previous Calendar Year.
4.11.To be eligible to play in the Over 35 Men’s Competition, a player must have turned 35 before the 31st of December of the previous Calendar Year.

Which means what? Since when do we grade in O45’s?
Or am I missing something?
How many teams have nominated for the over 45’s age group? Will we have 2 divisions or do we have enough for 3?

Sorry. The final gradings for all divisions have now been confirmed and sent to all clubs. There may be some tweaks here and there.
45s will have 3 divisions.

Hi Kurt, Just saw the makeup of O45’s. Having a 7 team division 1 doesn’t actually solve the problem of div 1 being dominated by 2 strong teams, it actually makes it far worse. At least in a 10 team comp we only have 4 games where we have no chance of winning and 14 games where we do have a chance of winning. In a 7 team comp we’ll have 6 games with no chance of winning and 12 games where we do have a chance, that’s not including a bye where we don’t play at all. There’s 19 teams in O45’s, enough for 10 teams in div 1 and 9 teams in div 2. There’s absolutely no reason to have 3 divisions. On a side note, Castle Hill United’s two teams finished 4th and 6th in div 1, why is one of them in div 2? Can we please revert back to what we had last season, 10 teams in div 1 and 9 in Div 2? Cheers

Seemingly always a difficult group to grade. However, glad to see Hills looking at it differently and trying to group ability as best they can. A third division catering to this will keep people longer in the game serving the football community better. I reckon there's some teams waiting in the wings for this to occur. Well done. Stick to it ... be brave.

This needs to happen to correct the grading.

Thanks Slomo for you kind words.
Grading (across all age groups) is a no win situation for all sporting organisations. No matter what is decided on, someone will be upset.
What you may be unaware of is the actual nominations requested by each club, and which players are in which team.
We try and grade according to the information we have at hand with a view to benefit the greater game as best we can.
Regarding the 45s. This is exactly how the clubs nominated. If you have an issue of where your club has nominated your team, best to speak with them.
As it stands, I’ve received 9 different scenarios on how to “fix” the 45s. All are extremely different and in most cases very much made with the blinkers on. No win!
All the best for the season coming up. I’ll won’t be answering any more questions regarding 45s.
Kurt

Kurt Teams nominated based on the understanding there would be 2 divisions, not 3. It appears CHU had some insider knowledge. Nominations are only part of it. The association knows where teams finished. If Baulko and CHU aren't swapped around somethings not right
