Maybe Hills need to be told by a lot more players and clubs not just me, they are sick of me telling them the obvious and are ignoring me. I am only looking after the interests of the players!! like a union rep. We have Club Presidents that couldn't care less about O/55 and the ones that do don't say anything. There are individuals that have tried to push O/55s under the rug and hoped it went away. It looks like they will say "look we tried to put an O/55 comp together and it failed" All because they put no advertising till very late and made the rules to constricting. It's lets push 3 to 5 year old, lets push for females, lets push Rep football. But older men over 60 and women over 50 who cares? not Hills but I do and I will keep on fighting. I help organise Hillsbillies O/60, I run OASIS Masters Football for O/60 and now putting together an O/70 team for international Tournaments.

I don't understand why there is a push by some for an O55 full field competition from a physical point of view. I have been playing in the O45 competition for 13 years and from my experience, you need at least 20 players minimum to get through an O45 season to compensate for all the injuries. My team had 21 players in season 2022 and most games we were lucky to get a sub or two due to players out with injury such as the usual calf, hamstring or groin strains. Not surprisingly, most of the injuries were with players at the more mature age end of the spectrum. If there was a full field O55 competition played in the same format as O45's, I reckon you would need a minimum of 30 to 35 players registered per team to have any hope of making it through a season. I reckon I have one more season left in me for the normal O45's format before I look for something different. Looks like you got what you wanted!! no O/55 comp!! every thing that Hills put into place and the By Laws made sure this was never going to happen. When a survey showed 75% of O/55s wanted 11 v 11, what did Hills say "we don't care what your survey shows" we are offering this and that is it!!! Maybe there should be some changes to people that work for the players not Football NSW.

Unfortunately as I've mentioned before, we have people who are Administrators. Not decision makers. Pen (or Keyboard) pushers from all other walks of life, who have never played the game. They got involved because their kids played once. Or dropped out when they were 11 and thought they would contribute to Football by running clubs & associations. No real understanding of what players want or need. Even when surveys & correspondence directly informs them. Backbone is required and there isnt one to share amongst dozens of them. Pull your fingers out !!

Now for the next thing for Hills help with. The Australian Masters Games Adelaide 7-14 October. Football is one of 50 sports being played and one of the biggest in participation. Football has been sanctioned and being run by Football South Australia, therefore sanctioned by Football Australia. The Hillsbillies are sending a team O/60 or O/65 and Hills has said "we will help you if it is sanctioned!!!" Well it is, so are we going to get help? We don't want you to run or organise the team just promote it. At the tournament the age groups are men's 35,40,45,50, 55, 60 and 65, women's 30,35,40,45 and 50. Send out an email to all players, men over 35 and women over 30. With an extra push for 60 and 65 men's as we have a team going.

Not a big ask for HFI to lend a hand. Sounds like most of the hard work has already been done. If they don't come to the party now then it just shows a total lack of interest on their part. Time for them to step up or piss off.

Not just The Australian Masters Games Adelaide 7-14 October now we have some of our Hills players playing in the World Cup O/70. The over 70 team that I have put together will be playing at the 5th World Cup O/70 11 v 11 and hopefully a team in World Cup O/75 7 v 7.
This will be the first time an Australian team has entered, with teams from England, Wales, Germany, Japan, Taiwan, USA, and others.
This event will be at Chiang Mai Thailand Oct 29 to Nov 4. 3 Hills players so far are in the team. There is also another tournament Nov 5 to 11 at Bangsaen, Chonburi Thailand, for O/60, O/65, O/70 11 v 11 and O/75 7 v 7. End of season trip.

Not many takers for the O55 Tuesday night summer soccer comp... 2 teams so far, Hillsbillies and Rick's Rangers. Its a shame... hope there's more interest after i turn 55 Think hfi want 4 teams in order to go ahead. What happens if that doesnt happen? Will the 2 teams in O55s join the O45s comps at Holland?

What’s happening with the O55s summer comp starting in a few weeks? Only 2 teams registered - will you be playing each other 10 times to sort out who’s in the grand final? 🤣🤣🤣

At least 2 other teams, if not more, would have been there if Hills had advertised it at the start instead of one week prier to close. No one knew there was going to be a 55 men's or a 45 ladies. There are certain people making sure it dose not happen. FNSW are looking into seniors/masters football to keep older (O/60) players in the game. WSW are also pushing and promoting the same thing. Hills will look stupid that they have resisted and not been a leader to promote it.

Well it's obvious where Hills lies. Tonight an option for the 2 O/55 teams came in. The obvious first option would be an offer to join the O/45 comp. Well that's the obvious option isn't? No the 2 options were A. play each other every week for 10 weeks B. get a refunded If that's not a kick in the teeth I don't know what is. On the field that would be a RED card and never allowed to play again. I think it is time for some people at Hills to be asked to leave. It's obvious they have no idea and want old players to just go away.

Did they offer a spot in O45s playing with 6 on the field?
Didn’t think they would go for allowing O55 teams to field 7 players

There's 14 teams registered for O/45s. Add 2 from O/55's and you've got 16 teams i.e. 2 x 8 team comps. Fairly simple.
