Jeremy Toivonen is general manager and is helping to push for older players jetting a game. What would he care, he handed his resignation in early November or has he withdrawn it again. Don’t think this did he him any favours with some over there.

I don't understand why there is a push by some for an O55 full field competition from a physical point of view. I have been playing in the O45 competition for 13 years and from my experience, you need at least 20 players minimum to get through an O45 season to compensate for all the injuries. My team had 21 players in season 2022 and most games we were lucky to get a sub or two due to players out with injury such as the usual calf, hamstring or groin strains.
Not surprisingly, most of the injuries were with players at the more mature age end of the spectrum. If there was a full field O55 competition played in the same format as O45's, I reckon you would need a minimum of 30 to 35 players registered per team to have any hope of making it through a season.
I reckon I have one more season left in me for the normal O45's format before I look for something different.

It's what we have played all our football lives, a survey of over 55's showed 75% wanted 11 v 11 full field, 17% 8 v 8 half field and 8% walking football. The Pan Pacific Masters had 16 teams in O/55, 8 in O/60 and 5 in O/65, 31 teams X 18 players 560 players. Plus 35's, 40's, 45's and 50's another 600 players. Men's and women's total 1800 players running full field. All played 6 too 9 60 mins games in the week. Walking football total 200 players. Futsal oldest O/50, 6 teams 50 players. Every Thursday morning at Northbridge oval 44 players over 60's turn up for running 11 v 11 football on a full field, 60 mins no subs. We want O/55 or O/60 11 v 11 running! yes it's slower but you are not chasing players 15 or 20 years younger. We will play the 8 v 8 Wednesday night O/55 Hills comp and then the NWSFA 11 v 11 comp on Saturday afternoon.

Chugar.....I think baulkokid is talking from a point of experience. Been there, done that. He also seems to have the stats & figures to back himself up. I can't see what HFI stands to lose by not supporting what seems to be what the actual potential participants want. Those that don't listen to what their client base want are doomed to failure. Ignore your own members at your own risk.

So is there going to be a Hills O/55 Wednesday night 8 v 8 half field comp happening? I hope so as it will show Hills are trying to help and promote football for older players. The NWSFA O/55 Weekend comp looks like 3 Hills teams Baulko, North Rocks and Glenhaven. Any others?

I belive that NWSFA will wait to see how many teams from their association nominate fo the O55 before considering a combined comp.

Has HFI given the green light for Hills clubs to enter the comp? (pending NWSFA decision)

The new O/55 comp, NWSF said they would not look at outside clubs till they had nominations from their clubs first then may consider Hills teams. This process would happen at the end of February, this is to late for us as we have to have our nominations in as well. The other choice is to put the teams together and join a NWSF club. So anyone wanting to play O/55 join a NWSF club that has a team. We will play the Wednesday night O/55 Comp.

Is there going to be an O/55 Wednesday night O/55 / Masters Comp. Hills are right behind this new comp.
If you are registered for a weekend team O/35, O/45 and over 55 it is free. If you only register to play in the O/55 comp it is half cost of O/45s. That's the good news, Now the bad news. Is this too simplistic am I thinking about the players wants, needs, well-being, what is common sense. If a club has only 5 players wanting to play and not enough to form a team they can not play. They are not allowed to join another club with 5 players and in the same situation. 10 players, which would make a team, can not play in this comp. Reason - "FIFA says you can only play for one club at a time". That's why there is a thing called "local rules" so associations can make their own rules to suit a situation.
This is not the Premier League, it's not 11v11, it's over 55, 7v7 half field. As long as you are registered in a Hills team you should be able to play in any team. Even if you have a rule where if a club has 10 players they have to play for that club. Any less than 10, players from other clubs should be allowed. More than 10, the extra players should be allowed to play for another club or other club players join to make another team. All clubs have to speak up so talk to your club presidents to have this ridiculous situation fixed.

Hi baulkokid Just a few q's regarding the above rules 1. Can an over 55's team from a club outside Hills enter the competition ? 2. If not can players outside the Hills comp register ? Suppose they can't because they would be registered with 2 clubs ?? 3. Can a team enter not associated to any club - I have 5 friends who don't play for any club but may be interested in playing - they would have to enter through a Hills club ? 4. Would red cards on Wednesday carry through to weekend games ? or someone red carded on Saturday could still play on Wednesday ? Think an over 55's comp would be a success if they get it right The Axe

Yes but they have to register with a Hills club and then that club has to have enough players to enter the comp, say 10 players. If they register just for the Wednesday Night O/55 it should be half registration fee of O/45.
4. Red cards are for all comps, if you are given 3 games it is for the comp it's given for and you can not play till you serve the 3 games in that comp, and you can not play in another comp so basically you get 6 games.
As far as I'm concerned as long as you are registered with a club in the Hills you should be able to play with any club for this comp. Certain people at Hills need to ease up and think about players needs and not their position of power. Think about the wants, needs, well being and the good of the game for the players, not "I'm in Charge of this not you!!!!"

Looks like Hills are doing every thing they can to hinder this O/55 comp.
1. First game at 6:30 - so players working in the City don't get home till 6:30 can't play early games. 2. A suggestion to play games at Kenthurst - You are joking the furtherest ground in Hills, there is no field allocation yet. 3. If a club can't get at least 7 players minimum for a team they can't play. 4. The suggestion that players from different club playing together - Hills will not allow it. 5. FIFA only allows players to play for one club - Look at Hills By Law 12.1 Hills can change anything to suit a comp. 6. Not one bit of advertising can be found on Hills Website or Facebook for this comp.
I would like someone from Hills to explain all of these issues.

That’s enough Baulkokid. You’re acting like a spoiled kid now.
I demand Hills focus their energy on youth development rather than trying to please the one man on a mission to no where.
