Saw a big reason why we haven't got refs anymore on the weekend.
Opposition player mouths off, gets 10 minutes in the bin, continues with swearing, so red card comes out.
Whining at every decision for rest of game results in another player getting 10 in the bin.
Then after the game, first question I hear is" "how do we put in a complaint about the ref?"

Hey macduff.....did anybody in an official capacity that was present, (other than the referee), such as the Coach, Manager, Ground Official, etc do or say anything to help support the referee ?

We had similar - mouthy young kids in AAM giving the ref far too much rubbish and trying to argue for minutes on end about certain decisions which were called the exact same way that benefitted them 10mins earlier.
Ref was too kind by not carding/binning them.
I get that people will disagree with decisions, but itβs annoying for everyone when the feedback (whinging?) goes on for more than 2 seconds.

Exactly. Its a recurring theme that nobody de-escalates. In our game on the weekend the other team started getting antsy and instead of aggravating or letting the team work themselves up I decided to de-escalate and calm them down - not get in their face and mirror the aggression but just say hey, chill out, its all good, the suns out, we're having fun. Do it with a good heart from a good place and you'ld be surprised how far it goes. Its on all of us to help the referees by keeping things calm - both the mouthies teammates and the mouthies opposition Everyone can do it better. Sure we shouldn't have to do it, but we do and so just try it next time - and if a ref comes back next year because of it you've done your part.

If the GPT got serious and handed out suspensions that reflected the abuse dished out by players then all football associations would be rid of these gorillas who destroy the code because of their own lack of self control.
HFI have nobody to blame other than themselves who are entrusted in weeding out this appalling conduct.

I had a coach of an U15s or 16s team a few years back do something similar. The young bloke had given me a gob full and I gave him a yellow and then while I wrote his card in my book he proceeded to stand over me only inches frommy face to try to intimidate me (he was about 6'3"). I told him that once I had finished writing if he was still there I would put my hand back in my pocket and pull a card out and that he should walk away and get on with the game. He continued to be inches away trying to be all tough guy...his coach did the right thing and just stepped onto the field and dragged him off. He then told him that he should take his playing shirt off, and that he was done for this week. Simple. The lecture from his own coach hopefully taught him that there is no place for it. There are people out there that do the right thing, but honestly the issue is more with the older blokes who should know better.

HFI have nobody to blame other than themselves who are entrusted in weeding out this appalling conduct. Spot on Raymond - between the clubs and the HFI the players get told they are naughty boys at worst but no meaningful action takes place. And they have their behaviour reinforced by the belief that the referee is to blame. Trust me I know that refs make mistakes - I've been a player and coach too. Honestly those mistakes often haunt them for days afterwards thinking "could I have done better". I had a game where there was one guy that I knew was the instigator of a lot of the niggles in a game, but if I never saw him do anything I couldn't take any action. You just have to keep your eyes open and act on what you see.

Remember when we first launched this association - ref coverage was around the 90% level...how things have changed.

Was searching on the HF website just now looking for summer football information and pricing and found a judiciary report which provides records of red cards, suspensions, clubs and grades that red cards have been issued for.
An interesting read. You can find it on the HF website, then go to the CLUB HQ tab, then the JUDICIARY tab.
