Oracle, The FC is 0-2mm on Thu and 2-8mm on Fri. Is this going to be too much for fields to cope with is it??? Please avoid sensationalising the weather - leave that to channel 9! The association needs to do more with council and clubs to open fields for play. This was one of their selling points when we broke away from Granville ie one LGA to deal with. Cheers Boba I am not trying to put a dampener on things, (excuse the pun), but according to the Bureau of Meteorology the predicted rainfall for Thursday is 3 to 6 mm. The predicted rainfall for Friday is 6 to 15mm. Obviously more than the figures that you are quoting. On Saturday the predicted rainfall is 3 to 8 mm & on Sunday 2 to 5 mm. Each individual figure does not represent an absolute drenching but accumulated over a number of days it starts to add up considering that fields are still trying to dry out from previous downpours. I am not trying to sensationalise matters as my previous comment was having a dig at the way councils often treat these situations. Which can often seem very laisse-faire or laid back. Unfortunately thanks to the State Liberal Government the ideal of only having one LGA to contend with was destroyed by their restructuring of LGA areas a few years back. So the reality is we have to now deal with more than one LGA. This was not the plan when the Hills Association was in its formulation. As always I just try & present the facts as accurately as possible & allow members to come to their own conclusions. If they happen to disagree with me it is just because they are wrong.

Oracle, It’s not complicated for council - grounds are open.

Good news Boba. But just remember that councils are slow to reopen grounds but very quick to close them again. 😉

It’s going to be like this for some time, 1-5mm per day with some drier days in between. Cant keep postponing. My team had a bye last week, we’re a month in and we haven’t played a single game yet. HFA needs to work with council and clubs to open fields for play. Field maintenance should not be the priority a month into the comp.

Honestly, probably not a bad decision. Protect the grounds tonight, expected sprinkling of showers tomorrow then play on the weekend.

I have checked the club websites for both Winston Hills & North Rocks whose grounds are in the Parramatta LGA & all their fields are currently closed.
