I reckon this coming weekend for sure and even the following weekend will highly likely be washed out. We have received 800mm of rain in days which is completely abnormal.
Round 14 is due this coming weekend which is no chance at all due to the state of the fields, does not leave much time to play catch ups and probably why some hard decisions will need to be made. Cannot see council providing more time which would be ideal for catch up games due to cricket scheduled to start at the beginning of September.

This weekend’s scheduled round has been cancelled, however any make up games from previous rounds will be played this weekend instead, on synthetic fields

Would have been extremely difficult to catch up a full round so close to finals. Good luck to the teams playing their make up games.

So, what have we learnt this season for managing washouts? The biggest take-away for me has been allowing teams to reschedule their rescheduled w/o games. Teams should be forced to play the day HFA has decided to reschedule or forfeit – no excuses, moaning or groaning. If its double header, so be it, just get on with it. The rescheduling of already rescheduled games adds at least 1-2 weeks to when they’re played, sometimes more… which just adds to the backlog. I’ve heard of instances where HFA have scheduled a replay into a week where teams have rescheduled their reschedule, causing 3 games in 1 week, causing even more delays rescheduling those games. If this was done from the beginning of the season HFA might have had more room/appetite to allow some of R14’s games to go ahead.

Just checked the ladder for 1st grade prems and Norwest and Winston Hills have have their points for the bye taken away for the 2 washout rounds 13 & 14.Is this normal or is this a stitch up by a club that starts with( K )because those two clubs voted against their proposal to now make it a 6 team finals series as they are in danger of not making the top 4 ? Thoughts ?

Thoughts ? If you add the number of games played and number of byes, the total for all teams should be the same by end of season if all catch up games are played. Some teams will end up having 2 bytes and others 1. Unfortunate or bad luck if one of the wash out rounds was a bye round for any club.

Just saw a council Insta post about Balmoral Rd Reserve opening last Friday. If I read correctly there’s 4 soccer fields there? Is that right? Also, which team will be using them? Cheers

Brand new club, brand new committee, big gamble - not sure how they will go On the other hand blahblah it could be very exciting playing in the first season of a brand new club. Trailblazers for the future of the club. No past baggage, a fresh start a chance to set the tone & ethos of the club. Could be very rewarding. Just look how Kellyville United hit the ground running from a standing start a few years ago. Worth thinking about.
