Is it just me or does anyone else have a problem that the Hills Board is made up of 5 Directors from the same club? It has also always confused me that the Director for Talented Player Pathway & Technical Development has a huge conflict of interest given his association with Hills United? So if the current HFI Board of Directors are presented with a formal complaint against CHUFC would you have the confidence that they would able to investigate it impartially?

So if the current HFI Board of Directors are presented with a formal complaint against CHUFC would you have the confidence that they would able to investigate it impartially? Nope. One of two things will happen Raymond. Either the complaint would be ignored or some appeared to be legit but grossly biased investigation would be conducted. The bigger issue is that day to day association decisions are made towards benefit of that club. You can see it coming a mile away that the direction of the association is progressively shifting and it will be too late before anyone notices eg. female football, representative pathways, home of football etc. There also appears to be an unhealthy relationship between a number of the Board members and the representative club that will ultimately result in association players paying for the operation of the rep club. Won’t be long before a fee, supporters package, membership cost or the like is added to (or concealed) in everyone’s grass roots registration and $20 per player per year goes to funding the rep club.

Maybe it is time to think about introducing a rule that limits the maximum number of Board Members from any one club eg, maximum of two members. This should help give a broader spread of clubs represented at the Board level & a greater diversity of opinions & ideas. This should hopefully remove any perceived or actual bias on the part of the Board.

It should be in the constitution to never allow more than 1 person per club to be a director. All 5 director positions should be from 5 different clubs to better represent the broad community of clubs. Not like we don't have enough clubs. At that point I would vote to ensure a director should not hold the position for more than 3 consecutive years. Albeit they could retire for 1 year and be available for re-election once again after that. We need more diversity and less cause for (even the perception of) collusion or monopoly. I guess talk is cheap and attending meetings to change the rules is an afterthought for many. But that's what allows those who can stack the room to win and we get into this predicament.

Does anyone know if the finals format this year have been confirmed (eg By-Laws of Hills Football Incorporated; "8.1.6. After the completion of the Premiership Competition, the top six (6) teams on the table in competitions consisting of eight (8) or more teams (inclusive of seven (7) team competitions shall play in the Championship Competition. Where a competition consists of six (6) teams or less, the top four (4) teams on the table shall play in the Championship Competition")

Hills has made the following decisions in relation to the impacts upon our competitions: Non-competition grade matches for Round 13 (1st – 3rd July) that were washed out will be cancelled. Competition grades/divisions that had NO matches played across the weekend of 1st – 3rd July: This round will be cancelled Competition grades/divisions that had matches played across the weekend of 1st – 3rd July: Washed out matches will be rescheduled

The more interesting question will be what happens this weekend? Given the amount of rain we have had, even if the showers stop for the next 3 days as the forecast suggests, I can't see too many fields being suitable to play.

One would hope HFA apply the same principle as last weekend, pending council reopening fields. Shouldn’t disadvantage clubs/players that have synthetic fields or fields with good drainage.
