The actions & direction being taken by HFI to address the current situation:
Hills Football cost cutting measures:
Staff• All Casual Staff have been stood down
• All remaining full time staff will be on 80% wages from the 15th April – 30th April
• All remaining fulltime staff will be on 60% wages from the 1st May – until an indefinite period of time
• The board has developed “levers” to be reviewed monthly. Should further staffing cuts be required, they will do
so. The next lever date is April 30.
Expenses• HFI has deferred all rental payments for 6 months. However these deferments will need to be repaid once we are
back up and running
• All subscriptions cancelled.
• All non-essential spend cancelled. Such as Waste Removal & Cleaning.
• Sought deferments / reductions from – Printing, Telstra & Electricity.
Football NSW Fees
• Football NSW are seeking 60% of the total fees payable in 6 instalments over the next 6 months. They will then
review to determine any further fees payable.
• FNSW will be providing a summary of this insurance policy at a later date.
• Football NSW have also made significant cost cutting measures and have indicated they will do everything they
can to ensure costs for members are as low as possible.
Hills Football Fees• Hills Football will require 50% of your total fees payable.
• This portion will cover affectively covers 100% of FNSW fees (should we have to pay in full), and also covers the
essential costs of HFI to see us through until the 2021 winter season. Should FNSW/FFA provide any refunds,
these will be passed down.
• You each have an invoice based off your team nominations. For most this is roughly 50%. We are in the process
of reconciling, however we need the clubs to ensure all iCompman data is up to date. Nicole is working with your
comp secs to complete.
Potential Grants & Stimulus• Job Keeper – we will be applying for this as soon as its legislated. On 60% wages, this covers most of the staffs
wages, effectively making them cost neutral.
• Cash Boost Payments
• NSW Govt Via FNSW
• FIFA via FFA
• We will apply for any further stimulus packages that may be announced.
Please be reassured that this is a starting point, not and end point. As this crisis evolves, our board will be reviewing on a
regular basis. Our aim is to return the maximum possible amount of funds to our members clubs and ultimately back to the
families within our community, whilst still ensuring our sport is viable in the future.
Our board will be reviewing our refund policy and also look to investigate a hardship policy.
So based on this above if our fees are not refunded the 2020 season is looking to be a very profitable season.
registration fees +
job keeper payments +
no referee payments +
no ground hire +
govt stimulus
= profitable season
Given the current situation with the average Mum and Dad struggling I feel nothing less then 100% of the fess refundable or credits carried forward to 2021 would be acceptable.
I thought the government was meant to be cracking down on anyone profiteering from this pandemic!
