Announcement made by Hills Football at 6:00pm.

Please note that all matches scheduled for this weekend 7-9 August are POSTPONED.
A decision regarding catch-ups will be made next week.

What an absolute silly decision.
The council made a decision this afternoon to leave field closures to clubs discretion after inspections. Whilst some clubs close grounds late today, others would be inspecting tomorrow morning.
With an already shortened season and full fees being charged, every effort should be made by the association to play games, not call games off on a Friday afternoon.
Ridiculous and very poor form.

TwinkleToes.....get real !! We have already had a considerable amount of rain today & the forecast is for more rain right through until Monday. There is no way that grounds are going to be safe to play on this weekend. The Association has a duty of care to all its members & they have called it correctly. They don't have to wait for Noah's Ark to go floating by before they make a decision.

The right call was made IMO. Yes, this is in hindsight, but the grounds would have been a mess after the weekends games.

I went onto the Bureau of Meteorology website on Friday afternoon about 3pm and there was only minimal rain forecast between about 9pm on Friday night and Sunday evening. So this was just not true about lots of rain being forecast. Completely factually incorrect.

its a shame they didn't move some catch up games to Sunday on Bernie, something they should consider for the future in a similar case.
