The most outstanding ref I have had in years was the guy who reffed the Winsto Red vs Hills Knights Red 35/3 game in about round 7 or 8 at Gooden Reserve. Absolutely outstanding. Don't know his name, but he was exceptional.

Other people and kids are watching this crap you know i propose a new format for 2018, whereby all ice addicts and players with history of match reports are put into divisions who recieve no official refs, and players who play to play football get official refs, and linesman if available, which shall be called; AA men

Mate are you for real??? I know that you would come back and say you were joking but you are not. If there are ice addicts playing which I am not saying there is not but I have not come across any, we don't need to isolate them they need help by pushing them away is pretty sad that's if you ask me. all we need to do is up the refs and once they made a called we need to listen to them as adults we all need to go home to our families and work.

I agree with you, and yes I was joking... but making a point. Btw i would bet old mate from all age who ran down to his car to grab a trolley pole the other week was probably an ice user, or abused as a child with trolley poles...
Im saying toxic negative behaviour occurs across all associations even at youth level and needs to be dealt with for once as a pre-emptive strike. Im talking about everything; constant backchat to the ref, threats, fights... its park football Imo people need to be re educated.. how that is implemented and ever becomes successful or is even realistic i cant say right now; maybe im just planting a seed... im not saying it has to be perfect, but it has to be pre-emptive.
One incident that comes to mind is a 17s womens game, which involved a player pulling a mooney in front of a 15 year male ref, a fight broke out and the game was abandoned... completely made my day lol

and realistically of course there are ice addicts playing, not common but they do exist. Youll most likely find them playing in lower division teams though. i know of a team full of cokeheads in another district, ended up being kicked out of the comp for too many red cards...
but that is not the issue at hand. My problem is the minority of players. Know what im talking about? The man-child temperament of some people on the weekend is infectious and sets a bad example. But it happens so often and for so long that its become the norm

btw if what i say works, (and its only a matter of some people growing up) then there will NEVER be a shortage of good quality referees who are more than happy to do their jobs After all, this thread is called Zero tolerance, right?

So are you saying theres never been backchat to the refs and linesman???
Think u may be missing the point slightly. Yes i brought up team suspensions etc... but team suspensions just so happens to be the last straw; the point where the association decides to actually do something about it. Which i believe is just an incompetant knee jerk reaction to a problem that has been stemming for so long. You need to cut the bs from the roots, before it happens, rather than it being too late
But again, the main issue at hand, imo, is the general mentality of some people who disrupt the game (i see it every week and also in my own games) and makes me wonder; no wonder good refs are hard to find I personally find it annoying every time a man child decides to stop the game and argue with the ref for whatever stupid reason. For me, it disrupts the flow if the game, and is just toxic behaviour really. For the refs; well it just makes their job harder doesnt it.
Again, zero tolerance to child-like behaviour is my point

Absolutely there is back chat to the refs it happens in all leagues in every sport this year in all of our games there has not been one push or scuffle i know that it does happen but if there is child like behaviour the people should be carded and not let the players walk over the refs

Thats just like our penal system lol The problems might not be so bad in your team and your division, but it occurs across all divisions, ages and districts all the time... and just 'expecting players to not walk over refs and in other words - be responsible' doesnt work... every single week on every single park in sydney, there is some emotionally disturbed dumbwit complaining to the ref, disrupting the game, insulting players/fans and in the worst case scenario; ultimately starting a fight And every single time this happens, young kids who witness this are "learning" this behaviour; and the only consequence which is a red card for the player which is pragmatic - but not good enough at grass roots level. We need to almost train people again, that this is not normal behaviour The committee only has to be a bit smarter, and simply implement a few changes, protocols that are actually effective, education for man-children on keeping a level head, same goes for kids, an actual zero tolerance policy And i know the committee of the hills comp is reading this See my point now? This is park football. Were supposed to be doing what we love. But the emotional immaturity of the minority plaging the whole system will forever be infiltrating the kids at youth level and so it will never "resolve itself" And youre right; its not perfect across all sports at grass level, this doesnt mean we just sit there and accept it. And if it works, there will also be an abundance of refs i guarantee it lol Or we can say 'its too hard' or 'theres not enough refs' and just leave it Shoot for the moon my friend thats the only way society progresses
