It’s not complicated. Players want 11v11, full field, 80 minute matches played on Saturday afternoons. Any deviation from this will result in less participation. HFI & club delegates have given us a double whammy! 1. Sundays not Saturdays 2. 60 minutes not 80 minutes. We have an explanation for Sundays but no explanation given for 60 minute matches. How on earth can one association offer 90 minutes and a neighbouring one offer only 60? It doesn’t make sense. It’s blindingly obvious that this is being set up to fail. Near enough is NOT good enough. We shouldn’t have to put up with it and just be grateful. We’re just as important as juniors! In fact we’re even more important as we pay $400+ per season to play.

Juniors play 60 mins too.Its $400 plus because of insurance. Im close to 55 and still fit , im looking forward to to hopefully playing 55s . 60 mins is plenty . Have a longer warm uo or cool down if you want 90 . As for the other leagues that play 90mins with slide tackles , well thats a joke . Id love to see the injury list for the season per team . Wouldn't be pretty i bet . Get out have fun , have a beer for goodness sake . There not going to budge on this, you're wasting your time and energy .

Put premier league or 35/1 or 45/1 on Sunday afternoon and see how many want to play. I'm 70 and played 8 x 60 minute games in 5 days at the O/70 WC in Thailand, I play 90 minutes every Thursday morning. I want to play 80 minutes on Saturday afternoons with team mates in O/55 like 130 players that did the survey. I don't want a watered down competition, we rejected Walking Football because it's not what we want.
There is one person that has been against O/55 since players started pushing for it and that sounds like you. We don't need players like you to over rule what the players wanted. Maybe new board members are needed.
Our club representative went against what our players wanted as they were convinced it was not a good idea to have O/55.

We're just trying to get what we asked for in the survey Redlad, nothing more.

We're just trying to get what we asked for in the survey Redlad, nothing more. And you are only speaking on behalf of a handful of players who have no idea about logistics and the bigger picture, a lot of teams in 45 div 3 have older players enjoy playing on Sat in there. I agree with redlad move on or get on a committee where you can join the discussion in right/positive way

All I hear is I want this and I want that or I don’t want that. Get over it, you are 70. By now you should have realised that you don’t always get what you want, and definitely won’t get it moaning about it on forums for ever and a day. Instead of whinging about them, join the committee, get on the board. Then use your awesome influencing skills to direct the decisions in the direction you want. Otherwise respect the decision made by others in that position.

Gents, both RedLad and The Other haven’t a clue about playing in any type of football games and talking a load of rubbish. The HFI survey had over 200 O55 players wanted Saturday games at 80mins per game… I believe this wasn’t presented at the competition committee meetings… 2 or 3 clubs presidents wouldn’t accept any O55 games on a Saturday, ( one president was pushing walk-in football over O55 comps) even when Baulko club offered to play these O55 games on TH field 5… Moving forward most other Associations (including Granville) have stared the O55 completions over the last 2-3 years, playing on Saturdays and with 80-90 Mins per game, so what is the issue with HFI not following these Associations? I believe FNSW are supporting the O55 comps and Master Football Competitions!

Stop putting in wrong facts there were 130 surveys and Baulkham Hills did not offer TH5 as they already have games on that field, redlad has a point 2 or 3 people read these posts that really care so stop your moaning

It's amazing how North West Association can have an O/55 comp with 18 teams over 2 divisions Saturday afternoon 90 minutes. We at the Hills have about the same number of players and can't have an O/55 comp.
