When are we going to find out the decision?
If no semis, it’s probably my teams last game tomorrow so would be good to know before we do the old “defenders up top strikers in the backline” swap.

Sounds like common sense has prevailed......or could it have been all the negative comments made by disgruntled members on the Forum ?

Well the results were overwhelming in favour of option 2. So why were the clubs never consulted in the first place?

Some clubs lied to their members about the way they voted on this debacle originally, then tried to blame ‘smaller’ clubs and ‘participation’ clubs.

I reckon the right decision has been made but am also hearing the clubs were consulted about this topic and a big U turn has happened.

A real example as to why Administrators must stick to administrative duties - implementing what the players want to have as their competition and not deciding for themselves how the competition is played out. The playing group (as a whole) should always provide the basis for what the competition should look like. The competition is about the players & their fans - not the boardroom administrators, whose job is to provide oversight and formalities of rules & regulations.

They done an about face. The collective agreed decision was "more football for all". Then came the backlash.

As you can see below the difference is that one club decided to to lie about how they voted and tried to blame other clubs!
Dear Members, Obviously the news is out in relation to the decision made by HFI in relation to changes made to the competition. First of all let me go through with you all the club's perspective. Please be advised that CHUFC are not at all happy with the decision made and we want you to know that the club voted for the games NOT to be replayed as per the Bi-Laws of HFI. Unfortunately the "participation clubs" (those clubs NOT concentrating on development and competition but concentrating on fun and playing as much as they can) voted to play the games and the number of votes received to play games outweighed the votes to NOT play the games. CHUFC will always make decisions with our club members in mind, as we the committee are your representatives. Whilst we understand that the last two years of Covid affected seasons have not been ideal and the weather has been against us this year, it can be seen to be sensible to try and play as much as we can, however not at the cost of teams being denied the opportunity to play finals football which they have been working towards the entire season. Obviously there have been many comments made and many are unhappy and please know we are totally with you all on this. I will be sending a letter to HFI as soon as this post is done. Look I doubt things will change, but we can only hope, please note that the committee are doing whatever we can here. There have been comments such as "OH WELL WE WILL FORFEIT" I will ask that no CHUFC teams forfeit any remaining games. There are fines issued for all forfeits and CHUFC will have to pay all fines so please consider that it was not our decision. We will keep you all updated of any changes Regards Paul Jones - President CHUFC.
Please see details sent out today by HFI below:Conscious that we’ve had 2 shortened COVID-19 affected seasons, we wish to provide more football playing opportunities for non-competitive and youth/senior competitions across our Association. Because of this, Hills Football has made the decision to reschedule this round to the week of finals, this being the weekend of 19th – 21st August.
With this being said, the next few weeks will run as follows:
Round 18 5th – 7th August
Round 14 12th – 14th August
Round 16 19th – 21st August
Grand Finals (1 v 2) 26th – 28th August
All changes mentioned in this email will be made within DRIBL. Please advise your members of this.

But what I am saying is - it's obvious it was the Club or other "administrators" making the decisions themselves and did not first consult with their playing groups. Wasn't until the players backlash that helped them revert their decisions.
