Terrible decision Was there any consultation with the Clubs before they released the changes? Clubs voted on the change.

Bull decision, in my kids division every team could still make finals. Now it's between 3. Why couldn't teams outside the top 4 play a a friendly match during finals? That's all the next games are for most teams now anyways. Dead rubbers.

What I am hearing from 2 different club executives that they were not aware of any change being made and this has come as a surprise.

If you choose to forfeit, don't pay the fine HFA issue to the club!!!!!! Don't let HFA win financially, gaining from their decision.

Ive also heard from a my own club, plus my sons club and other mates ( 4-5 clubs ) that they were as shocked as the players/coaches are...disgusting, surely Hills will reverse this and make it a 2 weekend semi final series ; 1v4 and 2v3, if they want to make teams outside the 4 play another game great, let the clubs/teams decide, if not see you again next season and go again. Teams start the year aiming for top 4, not a few weeks out from 'Semi Finals" to get told that this is no longer. Good on 1st and 2nd, not taking it away from them but you start the season knowing how it is....Other assosciations will benefit as the numbers may drive teams/players out of Hills

Great decision but one further tweak is needed. All points up until the last last game should be null and void with 1st and second being decided on goal difference on the last day, or even better we could draw it out of a hat, or even even better 8 team comps have 4 grand finals. It will give everyone a chance at a grand final. Participation is the key you don't have to win, its what this great nation has been built on ... just being there and you get a prize ... Good Grief.

Dear Members, Obviously the news is out in relation to the decision made by HFI in relation to changes made to the competition. First of all let me go through with you all the club's perspective. Please be advised that CHUFC are not at all happy with the decision made and we want you to know that the club voted for the games NOT to be replayed as per the Bi-Laws of HFI. Unfortunately the "participation clubs" (those clubs NOT concentrating on development and competition but concentrating on fun and playing as much as they can) voted to play the games and the number of votes received to play games outweighed the votes to NOT play the games. CHUFC will always make decisions with our club members in mind, as we the committee are your representatives. Whilst we understand that the last two years of Covid affected seasons have not been ideal and the weather has been against us this year, it can be seen to be sensible to try and play as much as we can, however not at the cost of teams being denied the opportunity to play finals football which they have been working towards the entire season. Obviously there have been many comments made and many are unhappy and please know we are totally with you all on this. I will be sending a letter to HFI as soon as this post is done. Look I doubt things will change, but we can only hope, please note that the committee are doing whatever we can here. There have been comments such as "OH WELL WE WILL FORFEIT" I will ask that no CHUFC teams forfeit any remaining games. There are fines issued for all forfeits and CHUFC will have to pay all fines so please consider that it was not our decision. We will keep you all updated of any changes
Would love to know who the ‘participation clubs’ are? I’m sure no club was aware of this until after the fact

Terrible decision Was there any consultation with the Clubs before they released the changes? Clubs voted on the change. Rainman knows that ALL clubs did not vote as many unaware of change (made unilaterally) so season has become a farce

🔵⚫️ Update from Hills Football 🔵⚫️
This evening Hills Football made contact with all clubs to advise to that they received significant feedback from clubs and members in relation to their decision to change to format of the finals series.
Hills Football have now asked for clubs to vote on the following:
Option 1:
Move Round 16 to Finals Week (19th – 21stAugust), meaning the following weeks will run as follows: Round 18 (5th – 7th August) Round 14 (12th – 14th August) Round 16 (19th – 21st August) Grand Finals of 1 v 2 (26th – 28th August) *18 Rounds played by teams + 1 week final
Option 2:
Run a Traditional Finals Series Round 18 (5th – 7th August) Round 14 (12th – 14th August) Semi Finals 1 v 4 & 2 v 3 (19th – 21st August) Grand Finals (26th – 28th August) *17 rounds played by all teams + two weeks of finals.
Tonight, the Rams Executive wrote to Hills Football to advise that we vote for option 2.
Other clubs have until 3pm tomorrow to advise Hills Football what their preference is.
As soon as Hills Football advise the outcome of the vote, we will inform all members of our club.
We thank everyone for their patience.

Round 13 did not get played and will not be played so Option 1 is 17 rounds played + 1 final Option 2 will be 16 rounds + 2 weeks of finals. So 8 team comps not playing round 13 means playing 1 team once and 3 or 4 teams 3 times. Round 13 should replace round 16 and or 18.

In this Association there are approx. 60+ Division Tables across Men & Womens competitions where top 4 places are still in contention. That's over 240 teams meaning close to 4000 players and people supporting them that will say after 3 years - still no real finals to show for it. Semi-Finalist Finalists Grand-Finalist & Grand Champions have always meant something to many. Some people have no care or feeling for this. But there are so many who do. The crowds that come along to thoae finals games won't appear again. That's not strengthening the game. Vote option 2 !!

If any match in round 13 was played for an age group/division then the rest of the matches in the same age group/division needed to be played as catch up matches. If no match was played for an age group/division then all round 13 matches in the division were cancelled.

I was talking to a chap this morning about all things football with the EPL about to kick off.. Interestingly, he mentioned that there was discussion at the last general meeting about the treatment of washed out rounds and that majority of clubs voiced their preference to maximize the amount of football for all players. Dont know whether fact or not.
