Baulko blues 7 BaulkoReds 0 Go Baulko!! Answered from the phone before hence short answer .
It was a derby with lots of banter beforehand . But once the whistle blew we were straight on it. ( had a few lazy starts previously and paid for it ) . We kept the pressure on for the whole game and it paid off , a reserve goalie in place kept a clean sheet for us ( could become permanent ) . One of our guys got a hat trick , and I got fouled in the box and converted it . We were just too strong on the day , hopefully this will be a start of a run .

As oldandbroken stated Norwest finished on top 5 2 against North Rocks. Game was closer than the score suggests however better team won on the day. NR just ran out of juice....... Official ref whose performance on the day could only be described as below average who made some questionable decisions. One being a NR player being tackled/taken out from behind in the box with a call of play on. No penalty given, just a player who ended up on his arse, in hospital that afternoon with a detached shoulder blade and a holiday for the rest of the season. With a few NR players sorely missed last week who will be welcomed back to hopefully turn last weeks result around.

Hey Rocks Red, are you talking about when your bloke stood on the ball whilst dribbling & falling over & then hurting his shoulder by punching the ground?

Yes, the game was closer than the scoreline suggested

oldandbroken73 - When you punch the ground you damage the metacarpels and your knuckles not your shoulder blade!

oldandbroken73 - When you punch the ground you damage the metacarpels and your knuckles not your shoulder blade! Nope. Playing cricket 6 odd years ago I tried to field a ball running away from me, fell forward onto my straightened arm (similar motion to punching the ground) and popped my rotator cuff (shoulder socket). Hand / Wrist everything fine except my shoulder. Hopefully not a long term injury!

Well as the guy that's just had the surgery, and spoken to the doc, I can 100% confirm that the injury was caused by landing on the point of my shoulder, not any of this ridiculous punching the ground business. I'll maintain that it was a foul, not me standing on the ball as has been suggested, but the whistle didn't go and the game is long over, so that's the end of that argument. And I hold no ill feelings against the challenger. Not malicious (he just didn't like being beaten and wanted to prevent a scoring chance) and no different to 100's of other fouls each and every week. Just one that had a painful and unlucky end result. And sadly, it's season ending, with a six month recovery time.

Commiserations One Arm,
I've been there before with season ending injuries and they are frustrating. Hope the healing goes well, do your physio and hopefully you are back up and running for next season.

I recall when I first came back to playing soccer (ironically with North Rocks) back in 2004 after 6 years of non playing. Second game in I volunteered to go in goals and I ended up breaking my wrist - nothing malicious, just a collision. Out for the season!!
Keep cheering your boys on.

One armed bandit - Classic! Hopefully it heals up, make sure you do the physio. I stupidly didn't (as I thought it was all fine) and I still don't have a full range of motion down the track!

I've had a full reco on my left shoulder because of soccer before, they are not pleasant. I hope your recovery goes well.
