Looks like we will be lucky to get back on the field at all this season with lockdowns predicted to extend well into August if not longer.

With the lockdown now extended for a further two weeks up to & including Friday, 30th July, it is now obvious that at the best we might get back on the field in August some time if we are lucky. But don't hold your breath.

if we get 2 or 3 weeks.
8 team comps top 4 playoff. bottom 4 play-off 10 team comps add last place vs 2nd last 7 or 9 team comps not so simple with a bye for someone.

Chuck I admire your optimistic outlook & your future planning scenario. I hope you get the chance to have something put in place along the lines that you have developed......BUT.......time is the enemy. Even if the lock down is terminated around early August, (wishful thinking), it doesn't mean that other measures such as social distancing etc will be eased up. I wish you luck in achieving your propositions but I am very sceptical that you will get the chance. I hope I am proven wrong.

Is it safe to say the seasons over for teams outside the top 4?

Please find below the latest update from Hills Football.
Good morning Club Presidents & Secretaries
I hope you are all well.
As you are aware, the NSW Government has recently announced the extension of the lockdown for Greater Sydney until Saturday, 28 August 2021.
This has resulted in the several proposed resumptions of community football put on hold once again. Of obviously greater concern is the lockdown extension date now takes us to the final week scheduled for our HFI Competitions.
HFI Chairperson and General Manager will participate in an FNSW Associations meeting on Thursday, 29 July with the Football NSW Chairman and CEO to discuss the current state of play inclusive of any such plans around season extensions, updates from Office of Sport, etc.
We will continue to keep our Member Clubs up to date on all ‘Return to Play’ scenarios and plans as they progress following the most recent updates.
For the moment HFI will still progress with our Summer Football registrations (competition scheduled to commence Sept 20) and will advise of any changes to this program should it occur.
We appreciate the angst and uncertainty around the current season viability and can assure members we will work toward the best possible outcomes within the constraints of the NSW Government restrictions. We thank our entire Hills Football community for their ongoing support and understanding.

Raymond....sounds like a sensible move to me. Restrictions are sure to continue well beyond August in one form or another.
I think we can kiss goodbye to the rest of this season & probably summer soccer is also in jeopardy of being seriously impacted as well.
Your thoughts Raymond ?

Got to draw a line in the sand somewhere and even if things improved I just can’t see community sport getting a green light in the first lot of restrictions eased. Can’t see Summer Soccer not being affected in some capacity and the FNSW Futsal season which is due to start early September will be another casualty. Too many ifs and buts for me.

Time to concentrate on getting vaccinated (2nd shot) and start pre season training for 45s 2022. Might get under 100kg by then ... maybe not.

Whatever the decision is I hope it’s one of logic and the season is voided. Working an average points system is both silly and any winners would be hard pressed to celebrate such a win. The only option is void and call it an abandoned season ...

After today's COVID Announcements from Aunty Gladys it is very doubtful if there will be any community sports occurring for the remainder of 2021 & maybe even beyond. I think it is just a formality that Hills will pull the pin soon.
