Chosenone92 I recognised your user name from the Granville Forum as one of the key contributors to sensible discussions & valuable input on that site.
You are most welcome to continue such contributions on this forum. It is good to get some input from someone who has been directly involved in recent events at Granville & not just relying on hearsay. All the best.

Likewise I recognise the username and your input in that blog. Was any explanation given for closing it?

Thanks fellas, appreciate the warm welcome!
Basically, it was actually quite a good year in Premier League other than the major grand final issue and a couple smaller issues throughout the season. Overall pretty competitive and for the most part enjoyable.
As for the forum, the closure come out of the blue and wasn’t announced in anyway in the days leading up. I believe it had to do with the complete randoms coming on using guest names and at some points it got quite personal with names being dropped. At the end of the day we all took it for what it was, simply a place to discuss what was happening week in week out and have some banter.
Shame to see it go after all these years.

Chosenone92.....have you thought of getting together with some of the better, long term members of the old forum & creating your own new forum ? Only this time with better safeguards to prevent random clowns from posting on the site. I am sure there will be many of your fellow forum members who are just as upset with the closure of the forum as you are. Best of luck moving forward.

After last week's performance by some clubs in the Granville Association , more than 10 clubs are reviewing their legitimate position and general meetings are been held to decide their future. Clubs are looking at moving to the Hills association , Southern Districts and Gladesvilee Hornsby - where this will end I am sure time will tell. The GDSFA unofficial forum has already been taken down......... more to come Hey nostradamus.....you are the instigator of this thread.....with the promise of more to come. Well where is it ? Or are you a flash in the pan predictor of the future....unlike myself. Time to prove your credentials.

I know Granville are not keen on the idea of a forum anymore and hold that view with any new one which would be created. It doesn’t affect us too much with premier league as all the coaches and captains are on speaking terms and know each other well so passing on or receiving information is easy in any case. It was only the Prems and 45’s sections that were active in any case. Interesting to see what plays out over the off season....

Chosenone92 thanks for the reply. How do you see things panning out over the off season for yourself & Granville ? Very interesting off season incoming I believe. A bit of talk of unrest across Prems due to the grand final issue but I believe most teams will return and strengthen for season 2021. We’re loyal to Greystanes and have built our squad their since merging in 2014. We will always do our best to stay at the club as the people are excellent and we are well looked after. Our premier league boys give plenty back to the club so we have a good balance there. If Greystanes was to move to BDSFA we’d be 100% behind the move as we indicated in 2018 and 2019 however if we stay in Granville we are also happy. We’ve only had 1 abandoned game since 2014 and that was due to an opposition player abusing the referee in Turkish and him calling it off when the player wouldn’t leave the pitch. Our squad is their to play football and we’ve built a pretty good side as players now want to join what we’re doing as a squad. All in all, it will be pretty interesting to see what transpires. Miss the old days of Premier and super league when we had 22 squads or so In 2014/15.

You are correct Oake 3 abandoned matches in the finals that will spell the end for Granville. But we must not forget Hills had an abandoned Semi between KV & KVU in the under 17's. players/coaches/parents all invaded the pitch. The best thing is I would expect Hills will deal with the perpetrators in the right manner and lengthy suspension should follow. time will tell as influential KVU board members were in attendance. what type of report they write will be interesting anyway good riddance to the scumbags who have wrecked Granville and hopefully they don't pop up playing in Hills for other clubs
The U14s also had 2 abandoned matches during the season and there was a common team across both games
The Hills Association needs to deal with these issues properly otherwise the association will lose players and end up in the same situation Granville now faces
The U14’s scenario was handled poorly. No ruling made about the 2 abandoned games until the night before the final round which impacted several teams trying to make the finals. Tables were updated and then 24 hours later changed again with a reversal of one of the results which changed the makeup of the top 4. Granville always boasted about zero tolerance but rarely acted on it. One of the main reasons clubs left to form their own association. Is Hills now heading down the same path? We are talking about U14’s here.

Hey Pep, I am involved in 3 Associations (Granville, Hills and BDSFA through the Phoenix League) and the issues are no more or no less prevalent in any of the Associations. I have a son involved in GDSFA who has not had any issues in the last 8 years and another in the Hills Association who has had 2 issues this season alone. I think it is a case in almost all associations that everyone wants zero tolerance UNTIL it happens to them is the problem. The most vocal on the zero tolerance issue are unfortunately always also the ones who find the excuses when something happens. The problem I see in all of these cases is everyone is dependant on the Association sorting it out when in reality it should be the Clubs acting. Why some of the people we have (players and parents) are even able to register is beyond belief, it is the same 20% accounting for 80% of the problems and clubs know who they are.
