Baulkokid. FYI. I was one of the players that was going to be in your 3rd O45s team at the start of 2017 and the team folded at the last second before the competition started due to numbers. Your comment about NSL and EPL is exactly what all teams are like. They all say they play for fun, but when it comes to the crunch, they are all "win at all costs" and if you aren't up to scratch no one wants to know you. A bit disappointing really. Very difficult to get a game if you aren't a star player. Hey leftie the comment was tongue in cheek, if they are that good they would not want to play with us. as I said I have to look after club players first. With 12 players over 60yo we are definitely in it for the fun of it.

Baulkokid. I know you were kidding about the NSL and EPL. My main point was that unless you are of a certain standard, it is difficult to get a game even in O45 or 35/5 because every team takes it too seriously, which shouldn't be the case, particularly in these competitions. Fair enough in Premier League or Div 1 teams, but not O45s and O35s 4/5.

Think Baulkokid and Leftie should start up a new competition of small sided games, no points and no scoring for over 45s...call it Cocoon Football 😁

Think Baulkokid and Leftie should start up a new competition of small sided games, no points and no scoring for over 45s...call it Cocoon Football 😁 A typical response from someone that when leading 10-0 would push someone out of the way to score another goal. 90% of players just want to have a good game fair & even & maybe win, but there are some that winning is every thing. The idea of the 45's was to keep enjoying playing when you got older for a bit of fitness & mental health as well. If playing hard & winning at all cost is what you want go back to O35/1s.

Re the mental health part - I think part of it is still trying to be competitive and staying relevant - there is plenty of enjoyment out of playing good football and being part of moves and plays that show results
Every result needs to be deserved and earned - and switching off for a couple of hours (including the phone) is a good mental health benefit
Ideally every Comp is even - and you all know what it takes to be a top 4 team
Heavy wins and losses are not unique to 045/35 teams in Hills Shire - happens at any level everywhere all the time

Hey everyone and welcome back to a new season. North Rocks will have a similar team to last year in div 1. We have lost a few and gained a few. One of the key people we lost was our goalkeeper and we are now on the look out for a replacement, if you are interested then please send me a private message.
We will apparently have a 2nd team which i think will be in div 2.

so the north rocks boys who went over to play div 2 at hills spirit have found their way home (to stay in div 2)? Last year some went to spirit and some, like myself, rejoined the NR team that had disbanded a few years before. Don't know if spirit will be forced to play in div 1 but I have been told that they lost a bunch of players and would rather play in div 2, which is maybe why the other NR team is reforming.

if all teams come back and with the 2nd north rocks team coming in we would have 20 teams...
Baulko x 2 CHU x 2 Coolong x 1 Glenhaven x 3 Hills Knights x 1 Hills Spirit x 1 Kolts x 3 KVU x 1 North Rocks x 2 Norwest x 2 Rams x 1 Winsto x 1

4 more teams would be 24 enough to have a relatively even spread of 3 divisions with 8 teams in each top and lower level teams more evenly sorted

Norwest would likely only have 1 team this year.

Norwest would likely only have 1 team this year. Lemme guess... the team that won the comp aren’t coming back? They’ll just pop up somewhere else, maybe north rocks div 2

Also i was wrong about NR having a 2nd team. The previous manager had been added to the teams you could select when registering and presumed it was a new team.
