Im with you çhuck0105. Whatever team it is they beat Norwest last week 4-1 and Norwest finished second in division two last year. Just wondering if its the same CHU team that dropped from Div 1 in 2018 and won Div 2 in without losing a game (I think they drew one) promoted to Div1 in 2019 and have now dropped to Div 2 again to claim another trophy.....see the trend anyone?

Just as an FYI the Norwest team in 2's is not last years team that finished 2nd. It is the team that finished mid table. Last years Norwest team that finsihed 2nd are in Div 1 having joined with Hills Spirit.

I'll let you know after Saturday. Hey Baulkokid, How were Rouse Hill? I heard you lost 5 - 1 (I think). I know you have a lot of older players, so was the 5 -1 as reflection of the age of your team or have Rouse Hill significantly improved this year?

leftie, They had 2 or 3 fast guys & scored 4 run away goals, first half we were the much better team & controlled the game but 2 run aways. Second half even game but we could not score & they did. Yes we are older 6 over 65, 5 over 60, 6 over 54 & 1 50. We will improve on our defence this week & score goals.

Div 2
Glenhaven 3 - 1 Castle Hill
A tough match and fairly close encounter with Glenhaven taking the points.
Whilst it did not effect the result, playing O45”s in the dark with ordinary lighting and multiple light globes blown is not a great experience.
A good match and thanks to Glenhaven for the run and see you next time at the Caterdome.

Real Football - Your conspiracy theory is good but far from accurate... The CHU team that finished 6th in Div 1 in 2019 is still in Div 1 in 2020 (and to set the record straight, we had 3 months off and were awarded the bye in round 1 and it now looks like a washout in round 3) - suppose we set that one up as well?
Conspiracy theory 1 - The team that went from Div 1 in 2017 to Div 2 was this - 1 team broke apart in 2017 and some team members were not in the team so they joined another team which was in Div 2, the rest stayed and rebuilt in Div 1. After going well that year, the Div 2 team were promoted in 2018 to Div 1 and been there ever since...
Conspiracy theory 2 - Grading for o45's was done on what the clubs nominated... 7 teams nominated for Div 1 (and were given Div 1), 6 teams were nominated for Div 2 (and were given Div 2) and 6 teams were nominated in Div 3 (and funnily enough, they were graded into Div 3)...

Div 3 BAULKO 1 v Winnies 1. first half probably Baulko were the better but both sides were trying hard, HT 0-0. Second half with Baulko loosing a couple with injuries the Winnies started take control of the game & finally put one past our keeper. By 10 to go Baulko lost more with injuries & started to scramble & just defend but 5 to go Baulko got a corner, placed perfectly to the far post Terry our 77y/o volleyed the ball into the back of the net. A very hard fought for point 1-1.

Baulko v Knights. 1-1 a fair result for this game but the refs decision to not over rule the AR for calling an offside on a passive player when the goal scorer ran through & scored a fair goal, When asked why it was not a goal his response was "It looked OK to me but I didn't want to undermine the young AR" He should have went & talked to the AR to see who he called offside & did that player interfere with play & ask was the player who scored the goal offside & if not it was a goal, he didn't ask & did not give the goal. So it was a 1-0 win to the Knights with a scrappy goal in the first 5 minutes.

The 45/2 comp has been great this season with all teams being of similar ability and very closely contested matches. No team has excelled and been far better than others and no team is out of their place in this division.
Very proud of the boys today, we were down 2-0 at half time and came back strong in the second half to pinch the match 3-2.
Well done lads!
It would appear most O45 teams are struggling with the same issue - injuries!

Div 3 last game of the comp, for the Baulko old boys it was a tough comp with injuries, most games we were the better team on the field but could not score even on open goals. Most goals we conceded were runaways from half way one on one with the keeper as our backs are over 60 & slow. The only disappointment was some players think every game is the world cup!! this is O45 div 3, taking out an over 60 year old player might be easy but not necessary as we will run out of steam, so see you next season.

Well after being belted 8-2 in round 12 against Glenhaven Red in the match to decide the Premiership and with 9 players to start and 10 players for the rest of the match, we moved to finals week 1 of football.
We managed to have 11 players available, 10 fit players and one of our field players with a snapped calf muscle played in goals for us. We also had a player on the side line with his kit in case of any major injuries he could stand in the middle of the park and not do to much.
First half, fairly even contest but thought we may have had a slight edge, our part time keeper pulled off a miraculous save and I reckon won us the game. Went in to half time 0-0. Half time our full time keeper who was playing on the field lost his hammy, told him we have no options and to do his best. 10 minutes into the second half our stand in keeper who has the torn calf, chases for a ball and drops in agony and is carried off.
Our main keeper who is now injured with a pulled hammy is told to put on his keepers gear, does so and our injured player on the side line gears up and stands up the front not moving at all and just lays some balls off.
With a few minutes to go we score and lead 1-0 and then with 30 seconds to go our opposition score to make it 1-1. As the kick off was about to commence the ref blows full time.
Extra time - very even contest and us old farts scored with a few minutes to go in the second half of extra time to take the win and off to the GF.
The 1 v 4 match was on after us and it also went into extra time with Glenhaven A beating Glenhaven B 2-1.
Very enjoyable and evenly matched comp was the O45 div 2.

That is a wrap.
The CHU 045/2 team would like to thank all the other O45/2 teams in the comp for a great season of football. Was a very competitive competition played in good spirits and every match being a real tussle which was great.
We were happy to finish in second place and in today's Grand Final also finished in second place. Congrats to Glenhaven Red, they were the best team in the comp and deserved Premiers and Grand Champions.
Now to focus on the boat and some fishing time.
