Baulkham Hills Blue Baulkham Hills Red Castle Hill Utd Glenhaven Blue Glenhaven Red Kellyville Kolts North Rocks Rouse Hill Rams
this weekends match ups... Kellyville Kolts v Baulkham Hills Blue Castle Hill Utd v Baulkham Hills Red North Rocks v Rouse Hill Rams Glenhaven Red v Glenhaven Blue
North Rocks are a good side, expect them to do well. However, have heard that this CHU side beat last years CHU Div 1 team easily in a trial game... so they probably start as red hot favorites.

That is a bit of a worry if this CHU team beat last year's team easily as CHU were minor premiers in Div 1. I have put many posts on the website about how there are very few teams that are really division 2 standard. Most of the 17 O45 teams are really Division 1 standard. I suspect that only B/Hills Red (the new team) and maybe the RAMS are really Div 2 standard. I suspect you will see a very uneven competition in Div 2. A bit like Granville's Div 2 in 2015 where Toongabbie and Auburn were far to good for Div 2 and everyone seem to know this before the season started but they ran with it anyway. This seems to be a bit the same. Given 8 teams in Div 2 and 9 in Div 1, I suspect the best team in the first four rounds will be regraded up to get rid of the bye in Div 1.

Looks like B/Hills Red out of O45/2 comp due to a number of players failing to commit to playing after they said they would play. Likely means one team from Div 1 will be dropped to Div 2. Keep your eyes open for further news.

Baulkham Hills O45/2 New Team definitely gone. That means there are probably about 10 over 45 players that might be looking for a new team and possibly new club, as it appears most Baulkham Hills teams have 18 players and / or don't want any extras. So if you are an O45/2 or 35/4 team and want players, you might be in luck. Can't guarantee the standard of player though. : )

Kellyville played Baulko in a good game yesterday. Baulko with some good breaks very eraly in 1st half got to 3-0 very quickly. Probably Kellyville just being rusty in the new year. KV tightened up after that getting a clear penalty, push in the back from a corner to squeeze out 4-1 at halftime. Then better defence on both sides had 1 goal each in 2nd half with final score 5-2. All fair play from both teams and good young refs.

I notice a R2 game is scheduled for Baulko Red.

I think the association should downgrade a division 1 team to division 2 before this weekend, therefore no byes in either division. Seems a bit pointless to have byes in both divisions. I am sure all teams would like to play this weekend.

Gut feel is Rouse Hill. But not sure how many players Winston Hills has lost over the last few years and how good their replacements are. But I would take a punt on Rouse Hill. If any weird anomalies show up in results, regrade after about round 4 or 5.
Note: I still have some big question marks over one or two of the teams in Div 2 and whether they should be in Div 1.

Hello, Being one of the CHU O45/1 players I can say that the 2nd team have a number of handy players (Big Al for one). What has helped that team is that nearly half the team have come from Hills Hawks, so they already have a good understanding of each others game.
And since the CHU teams have NOT played each other prior to the season starting, neither team has smashed the other. We basically had informal small games where anyone could rock up for a kick...such as a few 12-18 yr olds, bloody hard they kept nipping at our ankles.
Most of the players only found out which team they were in teh Wednesday night before the first round.
I hope that we all enjoy the season.
Cheers
