ROUSE HILL VS BAULKHAM HILLS
35/1’s GRAND FINAL
Hills Centenary Park, Rouse Hill @ 3PM
The 35/1's Grand Final takes place this weekend with undoubtedly the best two teams in the competition from the past two seasons appearing. Last year many could have argued the Rams bottled it losing both their finals appearances after finishing runners-up to Baulkham Hills in the regular season. Baulko went on to defeat Norwest in an uninspiring Grand Final win.
This season Rams and Baulko have met on 4 occasions and it's 2 wins a piece. Their most recent meeting was in the first semi-final when Baulko trailed 1-0 with 15 minutes remaining only to win 2-1 in regular time.
It would be disrespectful to both teams to predict one team will win this convincingly and based on the past two seasons it should be a very close tussle. Baulko will be brimming with confidence after winning the semi-final and having the week off, with Rams also on a high after easily accounting for Kellyville 4-1 in their game last week.
Rams do have a slight advantage of playing on their home ground, with the GF being played at Commercial Road. However Baulko have beaten the Rams 1-0 on this field mid-season. The good news is at least this pitch is a decent size and should allow both teams to play good open football.
Rams did have some defensive issues at the back-end of the regular season however it looks like their keeper is back on deck after injury which is a massive boost for them. Baulko are pretty strong all over the pitch and seem to have the youngest player roster, which no doubt helps in this division. They’ll be looking to play wide as usual and do have some speed up front.
Good luck to both teams, best of the best meeting in the final game of the season which is the way it should be.
GF Prediction: Baulkham Hills 2 Rouse Hill 1
Bolter of the Season: Glenhaven (first year in div one and finishing in the top 4)
Shocker of the Season: Winston Hills (from regularly competing in the semi-finals to wooden-spooners)
One to Watch in 2019: Glenhaven
I will have to agree Glenhaven are definitely a team to watch in 2019
Well played and good luck to Baulkham Hills
