So you only can get promoted to PL1 through PYL? no team can be promoted from All age 3 division?

Most of the teams in The top all ages division had a team in the premier league anyway. I think it was only Kellyville United that didn’t have a team in perms and they came fifth. I don’t know how young that team is. So I guess we’ll have to see if they are in the ply or all ages 3 division.

Rockets Premier League Update
As part of providing our players a path way to elite competition, Rockets will be entering a Premier League Squad again into the Hills Association PL1 2018 competition and we would like to invite you to trial for the squad!
Due to limited player numbers our 2017 PL season was only moderately successful. This season we have had expression of interest from a few players from Hills & other neighbouring associations, thus we believe that we will have a very competitive squad but are seeking more players to complete the squad.
The 2017 Knights head coach, Kieron Dowd, will also join our squad as head coach. Kieron has many years of experience coaching football and was the Co-Coach of the Castle Hill United PL squad in 2016, Castle Hill United club coach for 3 years and Knights PL head coach in 2017.
Kieron is confident we can build a very strong squad but needs some of our strongest senior players to complete the squad.
Trials will be held in normal training sessions with the first to commence on 15th Jan 2018. Information on ground and time of the session will be posted on our website and sent to the interested players.
If you are interested or you know someone who is interested or you need any more information or to register your intentions to attend, please contact Kieron at rocketspl@rocketsfc.net.au or feel free to contact me at president@rocketsfc.net.au.

Kellyville Kolts and Winston Hills both had second PL squads and heard that they were told they would not be admitted to PL 1. Castle Hill United also had a second squad but they lost interest when they were getting told there would be no Premier League 2 comp. If Rockets are in, that would more than likely mean other squads have folded which was a fear from many when the PL2 comp was hit on the head.

North Rocks will be in the PL 1 There will be 2 or 3 final hit outs and trials in late Jan to finalise squads. So there is still time to make the squad. Keep an eye on the North Rocks Facebook page and or website for details as they are confirmed

As I predicted haha,
The Assocation wasn't gonna allow the Big clubs to have more then one team representing in PL. Cant understand why the big clubs & there players(C-United,Colts,Winston hills) get punished for being able to field 2 strong teams with 25+ players but rockets( shambles of a team last year, got kicked out of PL1 cause they couldn't field a team) get another free pass into PL cause Hills Football want a team from every club represented in PL. Any chance of having the strongest PL comp possible just went out the window due to the Associations self interests.

Can someone please explain how Kolts, Winsto and CHU are not permitted to have a PL2 squad for their younger developing players when the very reason given by the association for implementing this new Premier Youth is to allow clubs to provide a Premier League pathway for young players who are not quite at the PL1 standard.
So how can this be applied to Sydney North West and Coptic who only have a PL 1 squad and no other teams at all? Most associations require a club to field at least 5 teams including juniors.
What if one of these teams finish last - they cannot get relegated to PL youth as most of their players are older and would not be eligible and they would not play lower division AAM so where to in that scenario??
Very poor decision and a quick way to kill off strong development opportunities that PL1 and PL2 provided.

Dont think you have your facts right there Chuggs
From my understanding. clubs may nominate 1 PL1 squad and also a PL youth team. so both Kolts and Winsto can have both! The PL youth is designed for clubs to blood the youngsters who arent quite at the PL1 level. i think its good not having it squad based as some clubs may struggle to get the 30ish needed for a PL squad. I was told from my clubs Pres that only 14 teams applied for both PL1 and PL2.
If you look at last year, they had 7 in the PL1 and 8 in the PL2. that just doesnt work! we also have 19 clubs in the association.. do we really have the size and interest for 20 premier league squads? maybe in 5 years time.. but for now a proper PL1 and a Youth IMO is a good compromise.
Also, who cares what other associations do... go join them if you like them better..

It looks like some teams have their squads sorted. Kellyville Kolts pl youth team had a trial game against Sydney FC u18s yesterday. Does anyone know the result of that game? Also anyone which teams are playing premier league this year?

Am somewhat disappointed for the Rockets. Pretty sure they nominated on time and not sure how or why they were selected to be chopped and how they are any different from any other club.
In fact there is a strong argument that they have more right to play then some others, noting Coptic and Sydney North West are playing their second season with only one team whilst Rockets cater for all Age groups.

Hills only want 10 teams in the premier league this year. Rockets were trash last year. I guess that’s why they got dropped. Maybe all ages is their level.
