Raymond, have you been off in the "Twilight Zone" again ? You have been very conspicuous by your absence.

Raymond, so, 15 and 16 year olds girls won't benefit from development? In general, there are a lot more girls who tend to take up football much later than boys. If they were playing in the mixed comp, they will be in the lower division and not necessarily get the best coaching. Ease up.... if the association is offering these girls a chance to develop, don't throw stones, support them.

It's like taking an adult dog to puppy school.
The bad habits with regards to technique has been part of their game for years.
Get them at an early age and they will learn.
As for taking up football at 15 or 16 you can't be serious.
The first point of dropping a sport on a weekend is the move from primary school to high school and then when boy meets girl more drop out again of sport.

Raymond, perhaps an old dog like you should consider reading puppy school. I clearly did not say they took up football at 15 or 16. I said they took it up much later than the boys, if you want a number, I would suggest 12 or 13.
Can they benefit from development? Yes? Why would a grumpy old man begrudge them this opportunity? You tell me!

Ray - everyone deserves the opportunity to improve and the association is focusing on development across all age groups.
The U14 and U16 girls had an awesome time last Friday night mixing it with the boys and their improvement over the next six weeks will be immense.

lovefootball you are deluded. Red is half right, the girls deserve time and quality development, but this program is a waste of time. Believe me they did not enjoy losing 3-0 and 5-0 respectively on Friday Night and are unlikely to improve much at all when they are getting run ragged by the best boys in the association on a small field, where their touch and movement is not real good.
Bad idea going back to small sided games when they've been playing full field for the last few years, playing against boys who play small sided every week and the timing in the season is terrible - This program should be done pre-season / off-season in my opinion and needs to be skills=based.

You tell me! Because you made mention of 15 and 16 years old, then saying girls take it up later than boys, I took it as an inference that a fair minded person would marry both together. Can be read both ways.
