the registration cutoff is June 30. so teams can start a comp short on players, get smashed and regraded after 4 rounds, which is at the end of April, then they have May/June to register as many as they like for the rest of the comp and the finals. i believe this is what the CHU 45/3 team did last year (there were many new faces in the GF) and potentially what the two CHU 45/2s will do this year. One of those teams will have to drop games in the first few weeks to ensure they drop to 3's so they can both can win a comp. Sportsbet has this at $1.01 to happen... The circus rolls on.

This is funny yet so accurate. The Winsto Bears 45/3’s last year scraped to win every game they could and only a few upsets in the last round saw them crowned Premiers. Two losses would have seen them miss the finals, that’s how tight it was. The Castle Hill 2’s who couldn’t field a full team and subsequently dropped down to 3’s suddenly had 17 players every week once they were in 3’s and went on to win a one sided GF 5-2. Last years Bears 45/3’a team have lost a couple of their best players and will struggle to field a half competitive team in 1’s this year, hence them considering pulling the pin. They’ve got 3 blokes that are 49 and the rest are over 50, and a couple over 60. Meanwhile last years GF winning Castle Hill side get graded in 2’s. 7 team 45/1’s, 10 team 45/2’s and 45/3’s. Last years Winsto 2’s and 3’s both in Div 1 and Castle Hill have 2 x 45/2’s including the GF winning “3’s”. Sorry, but something doesn’t add up here…. Fatboy, it's obviously not what you know its who you know!!!! You guys will certainly know you are in 45/1 first up, playing against the only actual 45/1 side in the comp. Looking forward to renewing an old rivalry from Granville days with you guys though. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Most of the boys will probably stay and tough it out mate. It's too late to go elsewhere and our objection was just disregarded. We're not a 45/1's team though - anyone that watched our games last year would agree. Even 45/2's this year would have been a challenge given we've lost a few experienced heads and have only picked up new guys that haven't played in many (like 20+ !) years. Most of us still can't believe we made the GF in 3's last year. Going to be a long last season for us but look forward to catching up for a post game beer with you... Cheers !

First run of the year for the mighty Winsto Blues in the 45/1's - a hard fought 9-0 loss to Kellyville United.
The boys battled hard and the scoreline probably flattered us, with some desperate defence and stand in 'keeper Andrew making a few great saves. Could easily have been a dozen or more. Only 2 on the bench for Winsto, but 1's is a big step up and even with a few of our wounded able to play and on the bench we wouldn't have got even remotely close. Congrats to Kellyville, too fast, too fit and too slick.
Big shoutout also to last years Castle Hill 45/3's who beat us in the 2022 GF after dropping down from the 2's mid season. Great to see them off to a nice strong start in the 2's again this year. You must be so proud. The bloke that lobbies on your behalf for gradings deserves a few cold ones boys, so make sure you pay up...

fatboy... Bella Vista 45/2s (or should i say Coolong 35/1s?) beat last years semi-finalists Glenhaven 5-0... you guys might be swapping with them if these score-lines are reflected in the next 3 rounds

Any 35/1s team entering 45s should go straight to 1st division. What’s the point at being put in 45/2s.

I'm trying to fathom the understanding of the game and divisions when a team goes from 35-1s to 45-2s ?? A team that played in top division 35s goes straight to playing guys 10 years older on average in a lower division.
Doughnut dough for brains being used here. Absolutely no idea.

No way this could be true. There must be more to the story.

Most of the Bella Vista 45/2s are from last years Coolong 35/3 and 35/4s. If you would like to check with HFI you can find there is no previous 35/1s player at all. This forum now full of false or untrue information.

If the facts of the case are correct, ie a team from Coolong full of players from 35s regardless which division, it is difficult to comprehend how they end up not in the top division in 45s? Yet teams have been promoted from down in division 3 from 45s. Let's see if they sandbag to stay in division 2?

fatboy... Bella Vista 45/2s (or should i say Coolong 35/1s?) beat last years semi-finalists Glenhaven 5-0... you guys might be swapping with them if these score-lines are reflected in the next 3 rounds We'll just keep doing our best but the fact we were put in the 1's and the team who flogged everyone and won the GF without breaking a sweat somehow stayed in 2's tells me everything we need to know. It'll be a long year for us, and it no longer becomes enjoyable getting pumped every week. So it wouldn't shock me if some of the boys can't make it and stop showing up for games as the season goes on. We don't need or play to pick up $5 trophies, but we would like to be at least half competitive and in with a chance of getting 3 points. We'd be a midpack 2's team at best given the players we lost from last year, or a pretty good 3's team. The only way we're regularly picking up 3 points this season in 1's is if manage to swap other teams for the bye...

Hopefully a regrading request, backed by your results, will make the difference.

Hopefully a regrading request, backed by your results, will make the difference. We won't hold our collective breath mate. The boys won't run dead and will do their best but we're out of our depth. We lost a few key players from last year and apart from the two 49 year olds we're all on the wrong side of 50 and we have a few in their 60's. It's a shame as we have played together a long time and moved to Hills after getting pumped for years in the one division Granville comp. Hills with so many 45's divisions gave us a chance to at least be half competitive and enjoy our soccer again. We'd probably be midpack at best in 2's, or a fairly decent 3's side this year. We are far too old to be just chasing $5 trophies but ending up in 45/1's is a joke. But after some concerted lobbying by other clubs here we are. I just hope injuries and boys not turning up as the season goes on doesn't end up in us pulling the pin - but I fear it will. 2 on the bench for the first game of the year is a worry...

The new team playing O35 Friday night D2 for Rockets is from NSFA (played for WPH and Cherrybrook last season) The rest of the O35 2s are playing for Bella Vista FC now. All players over 45 years old from last season 35/3 and 35/4 s form Bella Vista O45/2 and the rest play for Bella Vista O35/3.
