Theres a club poaching players to feed Blacktown FC . Is this acceptable? What does this achieve if the club end up with a super team with no competition. Its for underage Women as far as i know .

Sounds like a progressive club creating pathways for junior girls. Can’t see the difference from another club that allows an academy to create super teams that win by 5 or 6 goals every week, except the girls won’t be charged a small fortune for the privelege.

I agree to an extent. If your playing in a team that flogs every team how is that helping there competitiveness. Hills and Blacktown have already gotten the best girls for the teams , why settle for less. Let the girls play with there club teams and let them shine there . I think its giving faults hope to the girls who clearly aren't good enough to be picked in the first place . I find talking to some parents that there more deluded than the kids . We all want our kids to be great and give them every opportunity to do so. Its hard for the parents to be realistic because there been told a bunch of crap about there kids , and they buy into it . Pick the best from each team , do your trials then leave the rest alone .

Just an update to allay Red Devils concerns about giving false hope, six girls from the U13 team in this program have accepted positions with NPL Girls Youth League teams for season 2024.

Ive seen it already this year . Expressions of interest. If you think your Daughter is good enough to play Rep football send them over and we'll take a look at them . Everyone thinks there Daughters are good enough . What happened to proper scouting . I seen a couple of girls spend most of the year on the bench for there club that are in these rep teams . They would take anyone to fill a team . 6 playing NPL is great , what do the rest do . Go through the system until they get to 17 18 and back to the clubs when mum and dad spent a fortune because they were told your kid is awesome . Not good enough .

Given that you've already seen it this year, can you please name the club involved in keeping players on the bench for most of the year? I'm involved with Rangers and this is absolutely not true of them.

I am also involved with Rangers and concur, I can guarantee this doesn't happen at Rangers (especially in the youth). I also know this doesn't happen at a number of other rep clubs, so if there is a club doing this they are the exception rather than the rule.

Sorry fellas , not sitting on the bench for the rep sides . Sitting on the bench for there club then going to a expression of interest trial and getting picked when there clearly not good enough in my opinion. Not Rangers. 5 or 6 girls from the Norwest under 13s went to Rangers im sure , Id be interested to know how many girls from the Kellyville team who won CoC were asked . Or Rams dor that matter . Both teams had the best girls in the comp . Rams 15 girls too . How many of them got asked . Thats a quility side too .

We don't go chasing players/parents into carparks (and in fact won't speak to players directly at all). We work through the local clubs and make contact with them. Some clubs are welcoming of the opportunity for their girls, others are fiercely protective and don't want to pass on any information about rep football. If the clubs are not cooperative, we then rely on the parents making contact with us through the Expression of Interest process and, from there, parents recommend us to each other. Contact was made with the very strong Kellyville U13 team who played a friendly against us in preparation for their successful Champion of Champions campaign. I can assure you, we have not signed a single girl who was on the bench for their club team (but cannot speak for the other rep clubs).

Too funny that clubs are whinging that players are being poached.
Poaching has been virtually written into the constitution of the supersized clubs (Baulko, CHU, Kolts, Rams, Winsto) for all time. There was also an incident a year or so after the HFI was formed when a Director admitted doing this at a female football event and ‘didn’t know what all the fuss was about’.
The hard part is that smaller clubs will forever lose talented players to supersized clubs as HFI is run on the premise of keeping big clubs big and to marginalise the growth of others. Players will always come and go based upon the value they are getting from the club and the development opportunities. Focus on these areas and the rest will take care of itself.
