Well thanks to the help that Hills did not give us the Hillsbillies over 60 team has pulled out of the Pan Pacific Masters through lack of promotion from the Hills. From the Hillsbillies 10 Hills players will be playing for an other over 65 team and 4 will play over 60. This was a chance for Hills players over 60 to play in a Masters tournament. We will be but not for the Hills. I don't know how we will move forward without Hills help or maybe we could do what all old players are told "we have Walking Football for you old guys". We want 11 v 11 full field running (maybe slower) but running football. Maybe 50 to 70 will turn up not just 10 like walking football gets. And don't come back with the line "if it's sanctioned we will do it" What about just doing it to help over 60s with fitness, mental well being and some fun.

Can't really see why HFA shouldn't support this push for O60's. Like the original formation of the HFA, players will leave and join whichever association does support this. It will just be a matter of time whether HFA want to keep the players & money in their coffers (and take the mantle as leaders, or straggle along as followers after they lose their majority in this group). Lets hope HFA doesnt become another GDSFA committee, with their heads buried in procrastination until it's too late.

Pan Pacific Masters is on in a weeks time, there are many Hills players going but not representing any Hills teams. Next year there are 3 major Masters tournaments oversees, Asia Pacific Masters South Korea in May, European Masters Finland in June/July, O/55, O/60 and O/65 Chiangmai Masters Thailand in November. O/60, O/65 And O/70 - thats right Over 70. all 11 v 11 60 mins games. The Australian Masters at Adelaide in October. The Football is run by Football South Aust, so is sanctioned, So maybe Hills will help the Hillsbillies send 1, 2 or more teams. Its about time Hills realise what older players want and what they are doing outside of the Hills.
