I also like the addition of Raymond's middle name. The current rule that was implemented for 2023 was for the top two League 1 clubs that finish first and second in the club championship to be promoted to NPL1 in 2023 to make 14 teams in both NPL1 and League 1 for next season. At present on current 2022 form that is likely to be Hills United and Gladesville Ravens who have both led the competition since round 1. That would be an amazing achievement for Hills United and be great for all female players within the Hills district. Having Sydney FC and WSW join would also be good but one would think they would have to start in League 1, similarly to the WSW Mens League 1 who are currently pushing for promotion. Or as usual, big brother may make changes again. It would take a decent derailment to stop Hills and Gladesville winning promotion. St George would be the only possible contender, Northbridge are losing their way the sacking on the 1sts Coach in recent times and at least one player departing with the chance of more. Gladesville play CC this week and CC showed their 1sts Coach the door and TD as well. CC recent form has been ordinary at best and will need a huge form reversal to trouble Gladesville. With regards to Sydney FC and WSW one has to look who is lurking in the shadows to see what tier they will be in. They won’t be included in CC points was the last tip. With so many W League players to be missing in the future seasons, the longevity of Hills and Gladesville in NPL looks bright. If the W League players were there then they’d be fighting each other to avoid relegation.

A loss today for Hills United means there is still some work to do.
A win today for Hills and it was all over for those clubs chasing Hills and Gladesville.
What could be out of Hills reach is the Premiership, from memory Gladesville run home is pretty good and hard to see them dropping points, if they do, probably the Northbridge game.

The Hills United League One Women finished the regular season on 348 points, exactly the same as Northbridge Bulls FC with Gladesville Ravens winning the championship. Not sure what happens when two clubs end up in second place on championship points but if decided on goals for and against, Northbridge will gain promotion to NPLW with Gladesville Ravens.
Hills women ended second on the ladder.
Awesome achievement for their very first season in League One representing Hills and fingers crossed they go one better in 2023.

So, the other way to look at this is that Hills United spent a fortune to buy the successful Nepean first grade and U20s teams and coach and then ultimately failed in gaining the promotion that they spent the big bucks for. Glass half empty.

I always much prefer to be glass half full.
These women can now play football locally where most of them live and have lived since juniors before having to leave as Hills had no rep football for them.
There is a lot of momentum at present with strong interest from many girls and women wanting to come back and play rep football locally, before season 2022, there was no programs for women and only a third division for girls. At least now there is a proper pathway from GSAP through to Women's League 1 football and hopefully NPLW the following season.
Very positive future and glass half full I reckon.

On Hills United, they apparently sacked the U15s and U16s coach a couple of weeks out from end of season. Alex Tobin (technical director) then supposedly resigned immediately afterwards. All must not be too happy over there.

If we are being brutally honest Hills senior teams were largely just Nepean rebranded. How they managed to fall over and not win promotion when they were so well placed will remain one of the great mysteries of the modern world.

The rumours were that he was unhappy that a board member sacked a coach without consulting him (but about 1 in 10 soccer rumours are based in fact!).

Maybe one of coaches got found out about taking some players across with him to a club that got promoted ? Not enough Nepean people at Hills ?

Despite the inane and negative comments, Hills United first grade side won their semifinal yesterday beating Northbridge 1 nil and will now face the winner of Gladesville v UNSW in the Grand Final.

And which comments do you class as inane? Most things that have been said here are completely true, not inane at all.
