COVID has sure played havoc with the last two seasons & particularly this year.
What is the outlook for Season 2022 ?
Will achieving the required levels of vaccination improve the situation or will we be doomed to repeat the outcomes of 2020 & 2021 ?

The Europeans are mostly vaccinated between 50% to 70+% and they are all playing sports at every level. Their crowds at top flight games are all packing full stadiums again. My relo's (this summer over there) are all travelling across the Mediterranean countries with open borders. If we want to, we can open up and do the same. If we don't want to, we will just stay locked up, again.

We’re being told that the road back to normal is vaccination. Got my first jab last Friday. Surely community sport won’t be shut down when 80% of us are vaccinated.

It may become compulsory for players to provide some proof such as an electronic type of vaccination certificate before they are allowed to register. Does anyone agree or disagree strongly with this possible scenario ? Will anti-vaxers be prevented from registering ? Any thoughts on how season 2022 will look like & will it differ significantly from this year ?

According to the details of the latest roadmap out of COVID announced by Aunty Gladys today community sport will commence again after the 80% double dose target is achieved. This is expected to be around the 24th October which is a Sunday.
No details were given as to who can & who can't participate in community sport eg, will unvaccinated players be allowed play, do you need a double dose to take part, etc.

Cricket has indicated double dose to play & at the Hills meeting looks likely FNSW will also bring it in as well.

Unvaxxed can't play summer soccer according to the rules out today. No community sport for unvaxxed until 1st December.

It looks like COVID will have a lesser impact on the 2022 Season than the past few years. However, I hate to put a dampener on things, but it looks like the long term weather forecast will have a much greater affect. La Nina is predicted to persist until late May & above average wet weather conditions to carry on until well into July / August. We just don't seem to be able to get a normal season lately without any major disturbances. Keep our fingers crossed that the weather predictions end up being more favourable.

Does anyone know when the draw is coming out? It seems every other Association has the draw out 3 weeks before the season starting, why does Hills Football do it the week before?
