Hi all I have put together an O/50 to O/65 mens Football, O/50 Walking Football & women O/40 to O/50 Sydney Norwest Tournament
Proposed for September, over one week, which Hills & Football NSW are looking at. Also have put in a proposal for an Over 60 comp concept. Where a squad will play Walking Football & full size 11 a-side, it would be an inter District comp. This one would have to be given the trick from Football NSW & taken up by many Associations. All of this is for over 60's to KEEP THEM PLAYING for mental & physical health & not have to play O/35 or O/45s. But play both if they want to, duel rego.
Maybe Hills will put the proposals on their web site or Facebook for all to look at & make comments? So what do you think of the concept? Please no stupid jokes or condescending comments this is a serious thing.

Sounds good baulkokidWhether you have O/60 or change it to O/55 to keep in line with the other age groups might be something to keep in mind. The one week proposed format, which I see similar to a Gala Day, would help to show the level of interest.

Has to be Over 60 as governments set this age as when they give financial help & also the most important thing is I'm 67 & don't want to play O/55.

Later in the year there are 3 Masters Tournaments on:- September (Hopefully) Norwest Veterans. October Australian Masters in Perth & November Pan Pacific Masters at the Gold Coast. I am looking for Over 60 & Over 65 players for these tournaments. At the moment we have an Over 60 Hills team playing friendlies once a month since October 2020. Next game is in Canberra in 3 weeks. This is to show Hills & Football NSW there is a need for Over 60 full size running football. It's what the players want not Walking Football.

At the Presidents meeting tonight I hope all this is discussed, I have heard nothing back from Hills or Football NSW. The over 60 team is going to Canberra this weekend for a 3 team mini tournament. I will be looking for players wanting to go to Perth in October & the Gold Coast November, would like O/60 & O/65 teams for both. If anyone else would like to organise O/50 & O/55 teams I can help.

The Hillsbillies Over 60 Hills team played in Canberra on the weekend, it was a great time. A 3 team mini tournament we played 4 x 30 minute games 2 wins 1 draw & 1 loss, 5 goals for 3 against. From this point on I will be entering teams O/60 & O/65 into the Australian Masters in Perth, Oct 9 to 16 & Pan Pacific Masters Nov 6 to 13. Hills will be emailing all players 59y/o & over with the info so registered players & anyone you know of age that wants to play can come and have some fun.

Also, have all the participating players had their double dose of Astra Zeneca yet ? Will this be compulsory to be able to take part ?

Have spoken to the organisers & they said the Tournament will go ahead unless WA is shut down but if NSW is still bad & WA won't let us in then we can't play. 50 - 50 for Perth & 80 - 20 for Gold Coast. Have told all players to get their shots as it could be made compulsory to travel. I'm still preparing to go to both untill I'm told we can't go. It's just a pity Hills is not helping as the Hillsbillies (previously Baulko FC) team was made a Hills rep O/60 team by Eddie & now the new board dose not want to help O/60s. Still open for new players for both Perth O/60 October & Gold Coast O/60 & O/65 teams November. hillsbillies60s@gmail.com

Looks like Perth is out but Pan Pacific 50/50. Looks like an Over 60 private unsanctioned comp will start next year!!!! With teams from all over Sydney & also weekend tournaments for O/55, O/60 & O/65 bringing in Newcastle, Central Coast, Canberra & South Coast teams. A group is forming to organise the comp & sponsors. FNSW & all Associations will miss out big time on lost money & players.

Joke of a governing body. They have a rule for a rule and another rule for why that rule cannot be enforced.
