With one eye on the long range weather forecast, I see the Hills Association have advised there is a contingency plan in place in case rain impacts grand final weekend.
Does anyone know what that plan is? Will the season be extended by 1 week?

One would assume that wet weather procedures should be detailed in the competition regulations HS

One would assume that wet weather procedures should be detailed in the competition regulations HS It is in the by-laws but doesn't help -
8.1.13.The Championship and Pennant Competitions are to be played at the discretion of the Competitions Manager if the Premiership competition is affected by wet weather.
Wonder if games will get rescheduled to Bella Vista synthetic if there is wet weather. Bernie 1&2 has capacity to run a couple of games at 19:00 on Sat and Sun as well depending on which fields are closed. The powers that be will let us know when we need to know

Councils won’t rain on your parade and close grounds simply because it is the final game day of the season. Once the weekend is over and if grounds are chopped up they’ll bounce back quickly as it’s spring and grass grows faster than we can mow.
No need to preserve the grounds for the following week or remainder of the season as there is no remainder of the season.

I can't see the grass fields being playable / open tomorrow as the rain hasn't stopped all day so can understand the need for a plan B.
I also reckon it is a good decision to see all the juniors being given preference to have their GF's played and out of the way this weekend.
Always very tough when wet weather has an impact on GF's.

The least hassle option:
PLAY ON!
Call me crazy, but I reckon full steam ahead.

You have to laugh at the usual comments on social media the majority not taking into consideration that there is more than just their team in the association. The majority have most likely had nothing to ever do with sitting on a committee or running an association. As for the first past the post suggestion...please.... imagine the blow-ups if that was implemented. Well done HFA...they had a plan in place, communicated the plan and made the decision early. Only thing in the future is advise that games on astro are subject to change/reschedule based on other circumstances. The longest week turns into the longest two weeks for a lot of teams!
Kolts canteen profits should go through the roof with another week of Grand Finals at Bernie.
Should be the best referees in the association officiating for two weeks in a row now!

Could be some issues with start times if games go to extra time and penalties. Don't think enough time has been allocated between some games to account for this.
I can't criticise the Association for their decision. I believe they are doing the best they can in difficult circumstances. I know Fathers Day on Sunday will cause problems and I think 1 ladies team has to wait until next Friday to play their game even though the other 2 divisions play tonight.

The council's web site states that grounds are open. Does this mean that Rams and KU pulled the pin on the games or was it the association that made the decision ?
