Very disappointing to hear that the adult runners up in Grand Final matches are not receiving a runners up medal nor any inclusion in the Grand Final presentation.
Our O35 ladies played last night and lost but were excluded from the Grand Final presentation and did not receive any runners up medals. Most of these ladies have never played football before let alone played in a Grand Final. What a poor message this sends to those players.
They were left with an empty feeling after not even being able to be part of the presentation and thank the other team and the referees.
Then arrived today to watch Grand Final matches and the grounds were buzzing with many unhappy people commenting that adult teams who played last night and finished runners up received no runners up medal.
Surely the association can afford a $5 medal for the runners up players.
Have heard our club will be purchasing GF Runners Up medals and handing them out at our own presentation day.
Promote the game and celebration of making a grand final and provide runners up with medals like previous years.

Absolutely agree, was told that yesterday that only one person single handily decided to make this poor decision. Other Hills Officials were embarrassed by this decision to the point of them not wanting to do presentations. This is a complete disregard for the teams that worked so hard to get that far. They are completely deserving of a medal. Why is it that the PL teams were awarded Runners Up Medals?? Aren't they seniors as well??

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story...
League winners and the best team all year are Premiers. With this being said, Premiers were presented with the Premiers plaques and each player, coach and manager were presented with medals...
Please try to post the truth and not fiction...

Latest communication from Kurt the General Manager of the the Hills Association regarding Runners-Up medals:
Hi All Congratulations to all for a great weekend of football. Special thanks to Kolts, Rams, Knights and Norwest for hosting the weekend without any incidents. Senior Runners Up medals are on their way and will be sent out to each club ASAP. We apologies for this, it’s a clear oversight on our behalf.

Does anyone over the age of 15 really feel that strongly about arunners up medal that they’d get worked up over it? As long as the team is acknowledged on the day, that would do me.
