Good news but also very odd as the Association advised clubs at the last meeting there were increases coming!

fisho - Clubs must be starting to crunch their numbers and have heard the AAM & AAL fees have increased by $10 or a little over 4 %. Also heard the U5 to U7 year olds have increased by $10 which is a whopping 18 % increase and Premier League has increased by $35 which is a whopping 14% increase. Quite a hefty increase me thinks.

Also looks like a $35 increase if you are an U17 player - something must be wrong.

As much as we would all love to play football.. the reality is we dont have the corporate support like the big boys (AFL / NRL / Cricket) we also dont have the mega TV deals. we also have a stupid system of 3 layers of governance (National > State > Association). fees are always going to go up unless the above can be addressed.

The fees have gone up in some cases by 25 percent. Affects mostly juniors. Good Luck explaining that. More BS from a board in disarray. No confidence vote has to be just around the corner IMO.

And every school aged parent can access a $100 rebate. The clubs need need to make sure they have registered and are ready to take them. So a $35 increase is actually a $65 decrease in out of pocket expense for all school aged players.

Additionally every club should be letting their members know about this initiative, rather than just advertising increased fees. As I said in the shout box, for those who aren’t rolling in dough it could make the difference between a kid playing or not. I’d challenge each club to communicate this regularly and repeatedly to their members, making it as simple as possible, especially with the impact Christmas has on a lot of family budgets.

The big problem will be in regards to clubs being able to accommodate the $100 rebate in their registration system. It sounds like it will only be practicable after the 1st February to do so. I hear some clubs will only be registering players above the eligible age for the rebate during January. It would be good to get some feedback from a current club registrar as to the associated problems & how they intend handling them. As per usual the government makes these decisions without the proper consultation between the main stakeholders to ensure a smooth outcome.

The vouchers are valid for 12 months so the club just cashes them in once they are registered to receive them.

A third director has now resigned at last night's HFA meeting. That is three resignations within three weeks.

AAM rego fee's in Granville 2015/2016 were around $270. 2017 in Hills and it cost $340. I assumed the difference was down to the start up costs of the new association and perhaps the club budgeting for increased referee attendence. I can't and don't understand why fee's would be going up again this year? It's a big discrepancy between 2015 and 2017. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the product, but confused by the price.
